Adina Sara released her first collection of original songs, Feel A Change, in 1978, chronicling the upheaval and reformation of life after divorce. From then on, she has continued to record her personal stories in the form of creative non-fiction, poetry and songs.

In 1990 her home caught on fire. The aftermath of this life-changing event brought forth a new surge of songwriting, resulting in two CD’s, Love Song To Myself and Just For The Song (Beacon Music), intensely honest collections of songs dealing with the losses, struggles and triumphs of life.

Sara’s deep love for gardening expressed itself in Garden Grown, a book of poetry inspired by all the mistakes she has made in her garden.  In 2001, she began writing a gardening column—The Imperfect Gardener—for a local Bay Area newspaper, which continues to encourage local residents to get their hands dirty.

Throughout her creative ventures, Sara supported herself and two sons as a legal secretary.  Office work provided the grist for her recently published book—100 Words Per Minute—Tales From Behind Law Office Doors (Regent Press 2006)—depicting the characters and revelations that accompany an unintentional career.

Adina Sara’s short fiction, essays and poetry have appeared in Peregrine: Journal of Amherst Writers & Artists, Oxygen Press, Cottage Gardener, East Bay Express, Green Prints and Restless Me Travel Magazine. She is currently at work on a compilation of personal essays about family and friends, and a novel about a woman who decides to reshape her life at the tender age of seventy-three.
